Nichol-soon

Barry Nicholson's move to Aberdeen has been delayed again, but will definitely go through either this week or next, as Stand Free has been stating since as long ago as the 17th of January. Aberdeen legend
Willie Miller insists supporters fearing a repeat of the Lee Miller farce need not worry about the time taken to complete the Nicholson deal.

The Dons Director of Football withdrew the Dons' offer for the Bristol City bench-warmer on Monday when the player failed to respond to a 3pm deadline. Dundee United, who yesterday verbally agreed a fee with the English club, are the latest on the Miller merry-go-round, but with rangers now lurking ominously in the background it seems the little nyaff could be Ibrox-bound.

The Dons have agreed a fee for Nicholson with Dunfermline, and his agent has already met Willie Miller to discuss terms, but the hold-up concerns a severance package that Nicholson has yet to agree with the Pars.

Dons director Miller told the Press & Journal: "There is nothing sinister with the Barry situation. He needs some time to finalise a payoff with Dunfermline and I would expect that to be done in the next couple of days. We will then hear from Barry and I hope the response we get is positive."

Referring to bids made and turned down for Kris Boyd and Steven Lovell, God added, "I don't want the fans to have false optimism. I am trying my best to make it happen but if a player doesn't want to come, there is nothing we can do."
