The midfielder has been a mainstay in the Aberdeen side since making his debut aged 18 in 2010, and last month won a call up to the Scotland squad for the first time.
Fans' favourite Jack told RedWeb: "When the club indicated they were keen for me to commit to a new deal it really was an easy decision for me to put pen to paper.
"Since their arrival, the manager and Tony have brought in new ideas and I am excited about the prospect of working with them both over the next few years.
"They are building a strong squad here and one which I hope can really challenge next season. As a local boy I am delighted I am going to part of that."
Dons boss Derek McInnes added: "I'm thrilled another player has committed his future to the Club for three years. I'm really looking forward to playing a part in Ryan's development
"This is a strong statement from the club as we look to re-build the squad and Ryan will be a very important player within that."
