Severin To See Specialist

Stand Free's Player of the Year Scott Severin is going to visit a specialist in France in a bid to clear up a niggling groin injury. The dynamic centre midfielder will travel with the rest of the Dons team to their training camp in Holland before going to Paris for tests.

The underused Scotland international has been plagued by the problem last season and was forced to undergo surgery on the injury in December. But the 26-year-old has still sat out much of pre-season training, and has yet to play in a pre-season friendly.

Scottie told the Evening Express: "I'm hoping to go over to see a specialist in Paris in a bid to cure all the problems. The niggling injuries have been really frustrating, but my target is still to be fit for the start of the season and to take part in some of the training over in Holland."

Despite this disappointment, Severin is confident he will be available for the Scottish Premier League opener away to Dundee United on 30 July, although manager Jimmy Calderwood will have the final say in that matter.
