Former Celtic winger Jamie Smith has signed a pre-contract agreement that will see him join Aberdeen on a two year deal, subject to a medical. The Scotland international will hook up with the Dons when his current contract with Dutch club Den Haag runs out at the end of the month.

Pittodrie legend and Director of Football Willie Miller told RedWeb: "It's no secret that Jamie is someone both Jimmy and myself admire and he falls into exactly the category of player we want to bring to the club in that he's young, ambitious and skilful and made it clear from early in our discussions that he wants to play for Aberdeen. Like Barry Nicholson, Jamie has already been involved at international level, that is something he wants more of and I'm sure he'll prove to be a very valuable addition to the squad over the coming season."

Before joining Den Haag a year ago, Smith made fifty-three appearances for Celtic, including some Champions League action, and played twice for his country, against Austria and the Republic of Ireland in 2003.
