Youth Cup Semi-Final Date Confirmed

The game between Aberdeen and Celtic will take place on Sunday 2nd April 2006 at Pittodrie Stadium. Kick-off is 2 pm.

The Dons reached the semi-final after making it past Clyde, Elgin City and Ross County, and now face the team they beat in the final of season 2000/01 to collect the trophy.

The teams have quite a history in the tournament since the Dons kids' dramatic victory at Hampden, going on to lose to Celtic in the 2003 final where a Ricky Foster goal took the Dons into extra time only to see them outclassed with the game finishing 1-3.

The two sides met in the quarter final the following season, and again the Celtic youth team edged out the Dons with two late goals after Michele Lombardi scored in the second half to give Aberdeen the lead.

This year's semi-final falls the day after the first team play at Inverness Caley Thistle, so come along and spur the wee Dons on!
