Hayes has a heavily bandaged arm after being injured while out walking his own dog but should line up in his usual berth against the league leaders.

Dons boss Derek McInnes said: "There's no truth in the rumour that the dog died instantly. Of all the players to bite, it would be a foolish mistake to bite Jonny. It must have been a greyhound to catch him.

"It was a nasty bite, it really was, and it has affected his training going into this game, but thankfully he'll be good to go on Wednesday night."

Ryan Jack and Willo Flood remain on the sidelines, leaving McInnes with a severe midfield headache.

Captain Mark Reynolds returns from suspension and Wales striker Simon Church joins the squad following his loan move from MK Dons.
