Blaha Arrives On Trial

Czech striker Lubomir Blaha will arrive in Aberdeen for a week-long trial this week after initially rejecting the Dons last summer. The 27-year-old chose to stay at Slovan Liberec rather than come to play against Deveronvale in a pre-season friendly last July, but has chosen to give the Dons another go now that the tricky Banff fixture is out of the way.

Jimmy Calderwood thought he had agreed a move to take Blaha to Scotland on a long-term loan deal last summer, but Blaha changed his mind after Slovan Liberec beat Nantes 1-0 to clinch a place in the Intertoto Cup Final. Blaha's contract runs out in the summer and could move to Pittodrie for free if he impresses this week.
