Dons Injury Update

ABERDEEN striker Craig Brewster has dislocated his shoulder and will be out of action for four to six weeks.

The veteran, who, bewilderingly, started yesterday's drab game with Inverness despite supposedly being brought in as back-up for Lee Miller, was helped off the field just before half-time.

There is more bad news for the Dons, as manager Jimmy Calderwood revealed yesterday that Jamie Smith and Zander Diamond will both need groin surgery and will be out for two months.

This raises questions about the two being rushed back from previous injuries.

There is some good news however. Aberdeen could have a recognised left-back on the field in two weeks' time as Richie Byrne could be fit again.

It was feared that the marauding Irish defender would miss the rest of the season but has made a swift recovery from a serious hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen's chances of pinching Falkirk forward Alan Gow in the summer seem all but over as the Bairns are in negotiations with Rangers over a fee for the 24-year-old.
