ABERDEEN have this week opened contract talks with star defender Russell Anderson.

The Aberdeen born player who turns 24 this week has already stated that he wants to stay at the club.

This is a further boost to the Dons who will tie Phil McGuire up on a three year deal by the end of the month.

The deal to keep McGuire has been agreed - but has not been signed yet due to Phil's agent - John Viola being out of the country.

It is thought that AFC are offering players a 10% cut of any fee the club receive for them in the future - as an incentive to stay.
