Let it Thaw, Let it Thaw, Let it Thaw

The snow in Aberdeen will ensure that a pitch inspection is required for Monday's game with Inverness Caley Thistle, but Jimmy Calderwood might be thankful for that due to the injury crisis at the club. Noel Whelan and Fernando Pasquinelli look certain to miss out, Steven Craig is missing through suspension due to his act of folly last week and Derek Adams is still sidelined, which leaves only John Stewart and Ricky Foster as candidates to partner Darren Mackie up front other than the unusual but widely reported option of Scott Severin.

David Preece also dislocated his little finger in training last week and as also a major doubt to feature against ICT, while Russell Anderson has a heavily strapped ankle but this should prove little more than a niggle to Captain Fantastic (Whelan, Pasquinelli - take note). With the casualty list so high, perhaps Jimmy would prefer to wake up on Monday with a deep white carpet on the Pittodrie turf.

Having said this, I'm sure the management feel that our squad morale is so good that we can overcome any injury crisis, as has been shown earlier in the season when the players unavailable for selection was similarly high and that did not prevent Aberdeen's charge to the top end of the table. It would also be bad for the fans - especially those who have organised German-based theme days...

Hope Santa was good to everyone, and delivers the 3 points I asked for tomorrow!
