Mcinnes To Miss Aberdeen Pre-match Media Duties After Rangers Approach

Aberdeen under-20s coach Paul Sheerin will stand in for Derek McInnes at the club's pre-match media conference as the Dons manager's Pittodrie exit appeared to move a step closer.

Sheerin and fellow coach Barry Robson deputised for McInnes and his assistant, Tony Docherty, at training on Wednesday after Aberdeen rejected an approach from Rangers for permission to speak to their manager late on Tuesday.

Former Rangers midfielder McInnes spent much of Wednesday holding talks with chairman Stewart Milne and is looking more and more likely to be on his way out of the club.

Sheerin and captain Graeme Shinnie have been earmarked to face the media on Thursday afternoon ahead of Aberdeen's trip face Dundee in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Friday night.
