Dons skipper Russell Anderson's injury has been revealed this afternoon to be limited to a broken nose, and not a fractured cheek as was reported on Stand Free this morning. Anderson, who was operated on early last night, stayed overnight in hospital and is now recuperating.

Dons gaffer Jimmy Calderwood hopes the captain will be back in three to four weeks. He told RedWeb: "It's better news than expected. Obviously Russell's in a lot of pain but hopefully he'll be back before the end of the season."

Thinking of this Saturday's fixture, Jimmy added: "Motherwell's battling to stay in the top six. It's a massive blow not to have Russell, as he's been so influential this season, but we have options, guys like Severin and Markus, and Phil McGuire. It's going to be a difficult game, but we look forward to every game."

Meanwhile, Lubo Blaha is included in the reserve team playing Caley Thistle in Montrose this afternoon as he hopes to pick up match fitness. This may be essential as Noel Whelan picked up his sixth yellow card of the season on Saturday and is likely to miss the upcoming fixture with Celtic at Parkhead through suspension. With previous Celtic Park hero Fernando Pasquinelli having departed, big Lubo could be the ideal replacement to add a physical presence to the Dons frontline alongside Darren Mackie's tireless industry.
