The Dons trundle on with another draw, which, like the previous one against Hibs, was as useful for stopping Motherwell catching us in the league as it was irritating for allowing Hearts achieve a near-unattainable gap to third place.

It seems remarkable that while Jimmy is being put under pressure by the fans that he would yet again prove us right when we have described him as 'tactically inept' in recent years. His 3-5-2 formation was yet another shambles against Well - will he ever learn? And can we afford to take much more time finding out?

A chink of light in the gloom is in the form of Chris Maguire, who is starting to show glimpses of real talent for both club and country, having scored two goals for the Scotland Under-21s and Aberdeen's last two goals. Hopefully he can build from this, and maybe more like him will start to come through the ranks thanks to the revamped youth system at Pittodrie.

Football briefly takes a back seat on Saturday though, as the club and fans pay their respects to the 16 that died in the horrific helicopter crash; the club holding a minute's silence, and the Red Ultras organising a respectful display. Thoughts are with the families of all who died.
