Rogers has set his sights on becoming Aberdeen’s first-choice goalkeeper next season after signing a new contract.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is aiming to help Falkirk get promoted to the Ladbrokes Premiership but he is keen to play there with Derek McInnes’ side next term.

Rogers, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday this week, has signed a two-year deal along with the Dons’ 19-year-old centre-back Scott McKenna.

Rogers has impressed on loan spells with Airdrie, Dumbarton and now the Bairns and is aiming to make his Dons debut next term.

He told Aberdeen’s official website: "The manager rang me to say that he was going to offer me a new deal and I was very keen to sign it. When we spoke he said all the right things and really made me feel part of his plans for the future.

"The two loan periods have really helped me. I feel I am now ready to come back and challenge for the number one spot.

"Hopefully I can come back in pre-season and produce the goods. But before then I have some big games ahead with Falkirk."
