McInnes happy with Dons ahead of Celtic showdown

The Dons got their league campaign off to a superb start by winning their opening eight games.

But three successive league losses derailed the Dons' excellent start to the campaign, although a point at home to revitalised Motherwell halted the losing run.

McInnes remains upbeat and is hoping Aberdeen can rediscover their winning form when they play Celtic at lunchtime on Saturday.

He said: "Where we are is probably where most people thought we would be, we're just tucked in behind Celtic, we're slightly ahead of others.

"Most teams or all teams will hit a poor patch of form at some stage of the season, hopefully we've had ours.

"We trust ourselves, we have good players in the dressing room, it's important we get that confidence from results rather than just from individuals."
