Striker Given Dons Trial

Swedish striker Andreas Haddad is hoping to earn a move to Aberdeen after arriving on trial at Pittodrie from Assyriska. 6'2" Haddad is currently out of favour with his club, reportedly after telling his manager that he does not want to play for Assyriska any more and wants to move abroad to kick-start his career.

Assyriska have confirmed they are willing to sell the 23-year-old, providing Aberdeen are capable of matching their valuation. Chairman Ferti Varli said: "We have agreed to let him go if Aberdeen are interested but it depends on the offer." The Dons have already forked out nearly half a million pounds on Barry Nicholson and Steve Lovell this summer, but are desperate to add another striker to the squad before the transfer window closes. However, with attempts to get Piotr Wlodarczyk and Shaun Maloney in on loan falling through, there are doubts as to whether there is any more cash to spare in the Pittodrie vault.
