Jon a Don Deal

Johnathon Kurrant has became the latest player to join the Dons, but will not arrive at Pittodrie until the completion of his A-levels.

The 17 year old defender has agreed a two year transfer to Aberdeen from recently relegated Charlton Athletic.

The offer came as a shock to the young star, who said "I hadn't thought about Scotland at all.

I knew there would be people from American Universities and even Spanish clubs there, but I hadn't thought about Scotland.

"It's a long way to go - not just like Birmingham or somewhere - it's a whole different environment.

"But when I went up for the trial everyone made me feel completely welcome.

"After the two days training with the first team, they wanted me to stay another five, but I had to come back home so I didn't get behind with my A-levels. And they offered me a contract."

Kurrant is Jimmy Calderwood's fourth signing so far this summer as the Dons look to improve their squad and improve their chances of Uefa Cup glory next season.
