ZAMBIAN international Chris Katongo still has a chance of signing for the Dons according to Jimmy Calderwood.

The powerhouse forward played well against Aberdeen during their double header with Jomo Cosmos and was reported to be interesting Rangers and Southampton as well as the Dons.

If Katongo plumps for Pittodrie, it may take some time before the transfer goes through as he may be involved in the potential tie-up between Aberdeen and Cosmos.

The Dons boss told RedWeb: "There is still the possibility we will get Katongo in in the next few weeks but we will have to wait and see as there is a lot to be sorted out.

"He would be a good addition to the squad as he has two good feet and lots of tricks. As I say though we will have to wait and see.

"He would certainly be an exciting one for the public as he can go past people for fun and is the sort of player who would bring people to the stadium."

Meanwhile Jimmy continues to search for a left sided player after French trialist Hamama did not impress on his short trial.

He said: "We are still working on getting a left back and currently have a few options but nothing will happen in the near future."

Meanwhile, Aberdeen's match against newly-promoted St Mirren on Saturday August 19 has been brought forward by two and a half hours for live Setanta coverage. The Love Street clash will now kick off at 12.30pm.
